First, I like the overall size of this grill, it's bigger than the previous model I owned. I like the fact that the top also comes off for easy cleaning and the the pan for the grease is large. It is very easy to clean and maintain. The outer frame is larger on the sides and since the grill is inside you have less of a chance of getting burn if you get careless. Unlike other Hamilton Grills though, you have to turnover whatever you are cooking because it does not have an upper grill to cook both sides at the same time but the steaks do come out juicy and tender. . It does not have a timer. It uses a temperature dial like a regular oven so you do have to keep an eye on what you are cooking. But for me, the bigger grill is more convenient since I can cook more things at once. This model is also very light due to less metal and more plastic but it is well constructed. Overall, I am happy with this grill and would recommend it.

Good Alternative to Outdoor GrillingBy Christine
I love grilling outdoors, but that tends to be more trouble than it's worth when you live in an apartment. So far, I'm finding this to be a good alternative though. This is my first indoor "grill" and I must say, I'm very pleased with it. It was easy to set up, easy to use, and incredibly easy to clean. The grate and drip pan come out, so you can just throw them in the sink after you're done cooking and wipe them off with a sponge. Whatever non-stick coating they used works great - I didn't have to scrub at all. I haven't tried cooking steak or anything crazy on it, but all of the chicken and burgers I've grilled have tasted the same as something I would have grilled outdoors.

Nice Alternative To Outdoor Grilling When It Gets ColdBy G.I Gurdjieff
Realistically, this will not be used when the weather is nice. I have a Weber gas grill I usually use from March through October and I pretty much just dust the convection oven during those months. However, this appears to be not only a convenient alternative in the off months but a clean one as well due to a slightly higher wall and easy cleaning options.
I received this two days ago and have used it three times. It reaches a high temp quickly which is perfect for searing and sealing in the meat juices and then quickly cooking. So far I have made shrimp kabobs, steak, and thick cut pork chops. The results have been very good though admittedly I have monitored the cooking process since this is a new cooking method that I am not used to. This does not get as hot as my outdoor grill that could probably double as a crematorium.
What impressed me was its generous size and ease in cleaning. The grill surface, hood/cover, and generously sized drip pan can go into the dishwasher or be hand washed. The exposed areas on the grill unit are easily accessible and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth or wet wipe.
While I don't usually equate Hamilton Beach as a high end kitchen appliance, this grill was a pleasant surprise as it seemed not only well made but also well thought out. I can see this being used a lot in cold or rainy weather.
Update: I made beef kabobs, veggie kabobs, and grilled asparagus and the results were all very good. I especially liked that I did not have to use an additional grid pan for searing vegetables when I use my Weber. Again, very easy cleanup. This grill stores easily on a wire utility rack in my pantry. Decidedly worth buying for anyone who likes grilling year round.
